What IELTS score do you need for Aalborg University?

AAU does not accept IELTS One Skill Retake or TOEFL MyBest Scores: all results must meet the minimums in one sitting. IELTS and TOEFL tests must not be more than two years old by the application deadline, and AAU verifies every test with the test centre. Use TOEFL institution code 8892.

Master's applicants can apply with an official receipt showing they have registered for an approved test, then upload the result later if admitted.

Unlike many European universities, AAU says it does not accept bachelor's or master's degrees taught in English as proof, regardless of country or language of instruction. That rules out an English-medium degree from India, Pakistan, Nigeria and even the UK as a substitute for a test.

The exemptions are school-based: an upper secondary diploma from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK or the USA; Danish English B with at least 2.0; an EU/EEA school diploma with documented English hours and grade; or IB English B SL with at least 3. A Danish degree holder whose test met the minimum within two years of admission may also be excused.
