The master's page for applicants with a non-Italian qualification and the bachelor's equivalent both ask English level B2 or higher for English-taught programmes. The 2026/27 course-specific requirements list IELTS 5.5 for each English-taught master's; programmes partly taught in Italian also need Italian B2. Test date, retakes and score codes

Politecnico says admission decisions are based only on your language level, not on the date of your certificate. The table accepts tests taken on paper, on computer or online where available, and accepts retakes of one or more parts of a certificate, so an IELTS One Skill Retake fits within it.

For TOEFL or TOEIC, give the institution code C285. For Cambridge, choose to share results with Politecnico di Torino and enter your Candidate ID.

English-medium exemption for South Asia and Africa

You are exempt if your school diploma or degree was awarded in the USA, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand, or after an English-taught programme at a school or university in a listed country. The Asian list is Bangladesh, Brunei, India, Malaysia, Maldives, Pakistan, Singapore and Sri Lanka; African countries include Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.

To use the exemption, upload an official statement from your school or university confirming English was the medium of instruction. The full IB Diploma taught in English also exempts you.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Politecnico di Torino programme page and in your offer, so check it there before you book a test.
