What the report contains
From Pearson's PTE Academic FAQ and Score Guide. A test has 65–75 questions across 22 question types, and integrated questions count towards two skills at once.
| Part | What it shows | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| Overall score | 10–90, based on every question; not an average of the skills | You and institutions you share with |
| Communicative skills | Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing, each 10–90 | You and institutions |
| Skills Profile | Bars for eight skill areas showing how accurate you were | Only you |
| Recommendations | Study advice for each area from the Global Scale of English learning objectives | Only you |
The Skills Profile
The eight areas are: open-response speaking and writing; reproducing spoken and written language; extended writing; short writing; extended speaking; short speaking; multiple-skills comprehension; and single-skill comprehension. The fuller the bar, the more accurate you were in that area.
Pearson says the profile is not shared with institutions and is meant to show where to improve, especially after a disappointing result (Pearson help centre).

Codes on the report
Score Report Code (SRC): the 10-character code at the top of the report, below your name. Each test has its own SRC; an institution can use it, or your Registration ID, to find your score on Pearson's score website.
PTE Academic UKVI reports also carry a SELT Unique Reference Number for UK visa forms, and PTE Core reports carry an IRCC Unique Reference Number for Canadian applications (Pearson help centre).
Sending your scores
Institutions do not accept paper or PDF score reports. Either give them your SRC, or send the score from myPTE: My Activity, then Send Scores next to the test, search for the institution, tick it and confirm. You can select up to seven at once, send to unlimited institutions free of charge, and they can see the score after about 48 hours (Pearson help centre).
If you ticked the Australian Department of Home Affairs or Immigration New Zealand boxes when booking, your scores go to them automatically. If an institution does not yet recognise PTE, you cannot send to it.
Scores can be sent for two years from the test date; after that the report is no longer accessible (Pearson help centre). See PTE score validity.
