When a test is not needed

At undergraduate level, the English test is required where your qualifications were not taught in English; SUSS also says applicants without a C6 in GCE O-Level English (or equivalent) may be asked to take additional tests.

At graduate level, the requirement applies if your degree was not from an English-medium university, or was from one but not taught in English. If your degree was taught in English at a non-English-medium university, an official letter from that university can waive the test. That makes an English-medium degree from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh or Nigeria usable, with the right letter.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your SUSS programme page and in your admission decision, so check it there before you book a test.
