Belts questions with sample answers

1

Do you often wear a belt?

Yes, pretty much every day, actually. I usually wear trousers or jeans to work, so a belt is essential to keep them fitting properly. I've got a sturdy black leather one that I automatically put on almost every morning before leaving the house.

2

What kinds of belts do you prefer?

I tend to go for understated, minimalist designs. I'm really not a fan of large, flashy buckles or bright colours. Plain dark leather, either brown or black, usually does the trick because it goes well with virtually any outfit I wear.

3

Do you choose belts more for practical reasons or for fashion?

I suppose it's a bit of both, but functionality definitely comes first for me. Its main job is to hold my trousers up securely. That said, I do try to make sure the colour coordinates with my shoes, just so the whole look feels pulled together.

4

Did you wear belts when you were a child?

Not really, to be honest. When I was younger, my parents mostly bought me elasticated joggers or shorts that didn't need one. The only exception was my primary school uniform, where I had to wear a rather stiff grey belt that I absolutely hated.

5

Have you ever bought a belt as a gift for someone?

I have, yeah. A couple of years ago, I bought a reversible leather belt for my father's birthday. It was great because it had brown on one side and black on the other, so he could get plenty of use out of it for work.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
