Selfies questions with sample answers

1

Do you often take selfies?

Not very often, to be honest. I only really snap a selfie if I'm on holiday or attending a special family celebration. For instance, the last one I took was at my cousin's wedding last month, just to capture the moment.

2

Where do you usually like to take selfies?

I usually prefer taking them outdoors, especially when the natural lighting is flattering. Beautiful scenery, like a coastal path or a scenic viewpoint in a national park, makes a much better background than sitting in my flat.

3

Do you prefer taking selfies alone or with other people?

Definitely with other people. Group selfies feel far more authentic and spontaneous. I took one with my university flatmates during a picnic last weekend, and it's a lovely keepsake of our time together.

4

Did you take many selfies when you were younger?

Not really, mostly because mobile phone cameras were quite rudimentary when I was a teenager. We didn't have front-facing cameras back then, so taking a picture of yourself was pretty fiddly and often turned out blurry.

5

Do you think people will take more or fewer selfies in the future?

I'd say probably more, simply because mobile technology keeps advancing and social media shows no signs of fading. People will always look for quick ways to document their lives and share them with friends online.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.

Two or three sentences, about 15 to 20 seconds: a direct answer, a reason and one detail. One-word answers cost fluency marks, and long speeches eat into the examiner's time.
