Zoos questions with sample answers

1

Have you ever visited a zoo?

Yes, quite a few times actually. The last time was about two years ago when I went to a wildlife park just outside Edinburgh with my cousins. It was a lovely day out, and we spent hours wandering around the open enclosures.

2

Did you like going to zoos when you were a child?

I was absolutely obsessed with them, to be honest. Whenever my parents asked where I wanted to go for my birthday, a trip to the zoo was always top of my list because I was fascinated by big cats and exotic reptiles.

3

What kind of animals do you enjoy seeing the most?

I'd say primates, especially chimpanzees and gibbons. They're just so lively and intelligent, and you can easily spend half an hour watching them interact and swing across their climbing frames. It's really entertaining.

4

Do you think zoos are good places for animals to live?

Well, I have mixed feelings about that. On one hand, modern safari parks do vital conservation work and protect endangered species. But on the other hand, seeing large creatures confined to small cages still makes me feel a bit uncomfortable.

5

Would you like to work in a zoo in the future?

Probably not, as I don't really have the stomach for the messy side of animal care, like cleaning out pens. Having said that, I wouldn't mind doing something related to wildlife photography or educational guided tours.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
