Band 8189 words. Every figure in the answer comes from the chart above.

The table illustrates the preferred leisure activities among individuals aged 30 to 50 across eight distinct nations. Overall, it is evident that while reading is the primary pastime for the majority of Asian countries surveyed, Western nations show a stronger preference for television and hobbies.

In terms of reading, Japan leads with 62%, closely followed by Korea and China, both at 60%. In contrast, Canada, Australia, and the USA report significantly lower figures for reading, each standing at 15%. Conversely, television viewing is highly popular in Australia (65%), Canada (60%), and the USA (60%), while China and Korea report much lower engagement at 15% and 22% respectively.

Hobbies are consistently popular across most nations, with China recording the highest participation at 50%, followed by Australia and Korea at 45%. Regarding other activities, the USA stands out for its high interest in music (23%) and beach visits (30%), the latter being shared equally with Australia. Interestingly, England reports a notable 20% for sleep, which is substantially higher than the figures for other countries, which range from 2% to 5%. Data for several categories in France, England, and Japan remains unavailable.
